"Family Fun While Travel

mimeographed booklet on
games and entertainment ideas
for children, available free from
the Eugene Parks Dept.
The booklet, which suggests
ways to keep children occupied
while in the car or at the night's
destination, was edited by Marg
Bcall, of the city's recreation
staff.
Copies may be obtained at the
Eugene Parks Dept. office in the
city hall.
Washington Man
Charged in Eugene
A 29-year-old Tacoma, Wash,
man was arraigned in Lane
County District Court Friday
morning charged with burglar
izing a store on April 6, taking
$400.
Jess Hutchinson is accused of
breaking into the One O'Cloi'k
Market, 608 W. Sixth Ave., Eu
gene. He requested that the court
appoint an attorney to adv'se
him.

will remain on campus for long

The institute, sponsored joint
ly by the Oregon Juvenile Court
Judges Assn. and the University
of Oregon, offers a variety of
lectures and discussion groups
with the primary aim of "fur
thering our mutual knowledge
of the problems of delin
quency," said Kenneth Polk, as
sistant professor of sociology
at the University of Oregon and
director of the institute.
The program will combine re
ports of work in delinquency
going on throughout the west
and the United States and dis
cussions of more "local" pro
grams by personnel familiar
with the Northwest.
Participants will include in
dividuals from institutions in
the Northwest, from law en
forcement agencies, probation
and juvenile departments, and
other agencies such as schools
and citizens' advisory groups.

Howard Rites Held Friday
Funeral services were to be
held Friday afternoon for Hen
ry Walter Howard, of Route 4,
Eugene, who died Tuesday at a
Eugene nursing home. He
was 73.
Born in Myrtle Creek, he was
a life-long resident of Oregon.
He spent many years in this
community. He was a retired
motel operator.
Survivors include a son, Al-
vin, of Glendale; two daughters:
Helen Gale, of Dunsmuir, Calif.,
and Margaret Ball, of Glendale;
two brothers: William of Dex
ter and Freddie of Bossier City,
La.; a sister, Hattie Ross, of
Florence; and ten grandchil
dren. Interment was to be in West
Lawn Memorial Park following
services in Buell Chapel.
