MRS. KENNETH R. BUFFINGTON (Marilyn Maines) was married in an evening cer
:emony May 13 in First Congregational Church, and the couple is to make their home
.--at Willamina, following a wedding trip to Southern California.

Couple's Home at Willamina
A gold locket, which was' her
bridegroom's gift to her, was
worn by Miss Marilyn Maines,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester
J. Maines of Eugene, with her
bridal dress when she was mar
ried to Kenneth R. Buffington of
Willamina in First Congregation
al Church. The ceremony was per-
formed at. 8 p.m. Saturday, May
13, by the Rev. Wesley G. Nlchol
son, pastor. The bridegroom Is
the son of Mrs. Robert Buffing-
. ton of Willamina, and the late
Mr. Buffington.
' The bride's gown was of silk
organza, lonr-Icngth, made with
sabrina neckline outlined In lace
applique. The . full skirt had
chapel train, which was edged
in wide bands of scalloped lace
ornamented with secjuins. Her
fingertip veil i of illusion, edged
with lace, was attached to a min
iature crown of seed pearls. Her
father gave her in marriage.
The maid of honor, Miss Mir
iam Hastings, wore a dress of
crystal satin in azure blue, bal
lerina length, with cpummerbund
of contrasting pale blue. She car
ried a bouquet of white carna
tions and daisies, tied with rib
bons to match her cummerbund.
. The four bridesmaids, 'Miss
Connie Kempton of Los Angeles,
Miss Luella Kclm, Miss Bonita
Buffington of Willamina and Miss
Elaine Twite, all wore dresses in
ballerina length, styled like Miss
Hastings' gown. Their dresses re
versed the colors, being of pale
blue, with darker cummerbund.
They also carried white carna
tions and daisies, tied with dark
blue ribbons. " ' '
Debbie Harrington of Oregon
City, niece of the bride, was her
flower girl. She wore a frock in
azure blue.
Best man was Edward Caferel
11, and ushers were Larry Davis,
Donald Millan, Robert Petit and
Ronald Maines. Two of the ush
ers also lighted the candles.
Organ music for the ceremony
was played by Mrs. Robert Brak-
el, church organist.
At the reception afterward in
the Wheeler Room, the wedding
cake was cut and served by Mrs,
Henry Rigsby and Mrs. Charles

luncheon Monday at 1 p.m. In
Veterans Memorial Bldg. Those

Old Timer Group
Slates Reunion at
Central Grange
Old Timers of Central will
hold their annual reunion at
Central Grange . Hall Sunday,
June 4. Potluck dinner will be
served at noon, with the meat
dish, coffee, cream and sugar
furnished.
All former residents of the
community are invited to at
tend, and any one who cannot
be present are asked to send
a card and greeting, which
will be read at the meeting.
Harry Petzold is secretary to
the group, and cards may be
sent to him, 1522 Orchard St.,

The couple made a wedding
trip to southern California, the
bride wearing a light blue sum
mer ensemble with white acces
sories. They will be at home at
Willamina after this week end,
where the bridegroom is em
ployed. Mrs. Lola C. Maines of Ft. Col
lins, Colo., grandmother of the
bride, was an out-of-state guest
at the ceremony.

14 in First, Christian Church. The couple will make their home in Eugene follow
ing a wedding trip to Victoria, B.C.

Wedding rings were exchanged
by Miss Irma Irene Coe and Gil
bert Wallace Moore in an after
noon ceremony May 14 in First
Christian Church. The Rev. Carl
ton Buck officiated at the service
before a background of pink
snapdragons, white stock and
pink carnations, and pink tapers
in candelabra. ; '
Miss Coe is the daughter of
Mrs. Anna I. Coe of Eugene. Mr.
Moore Is the son of Mrs. Viola
Brooks of Aurora.
The bride chose a full-length
wedding gown of silk organza
fashioned with a long-sleeved
bodice of lace re - embroidered
with sequins. Medallions of the
lace were repeated on the skirt,
which had a large butterfly bow
at back. Her float-length veil of
illusion was held by a small lace
cap. She carried a cascade bou
quet of white roses and carna
tions, and wore a strand of
pearls, a -gift from, the bride
groom. Robert E. Coe of Port
land gave his sister in marriage.
Miss Donna Beckwith of Salem,
maid of honor, and Miss Marlene
McClanahan of Eugene, brides
maid, wore gowns of pink silk
organza "' styled with pleated
bodices and carried cascades of
pink carnations. - .
Raymond Knutson of Portland
was best man and ushers were
Charles Hunt of Portland, Roger
Hannum and Arthur Toyooka.
The latter two also lighted the
candles. '
Gilbert Kistler sang "Because,"
"I Love Thee" and "The Lord's
Prayer." Mrs. Nell Murphey
Dickson played the organ music.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held in the church
parlor, where Mrs. E. W. Norton
and Mrs. Robert Ayers cut the
cake. Miss Betty Coe, sister of
the bride, served punch and Mrs.
Robert E. Coe poured coffee.
Miss Barbara Loomis presented
the guest book.
The bride wore a beige eoat
over a green dress and apple
green accessories for their wed
ding trip to Washington and Vic
toria, B. C. The couple will make
their home in Eugene at 336 E,
11th Ave. Mr. Moore is an agent
for the U. S. Internal Revenue
Service.

Monday at 8 p.m. at Gaylord's
Pianos and Organs, 13th and Wil
lamette Sts. A program of spe
cialities on the organ will be pre
sented by Glen Pratt, A.G.O. or
ganist, and northwest representa
tive of the Conn Organ Corp. Mr.
Pratt also will answer questions
with reference to the organ. Re
freshments. will be served.
Frank Asay will preside at the
business meeting. All members
