Milk Prices Reduced
KLAMATH FALLS (UPI) -r-
Milk prices went down one cent
a quart at the retail level here
this week. An official said the
reason for' the cut was to meet
the price set by Safeway stores. ,
roadside ditches, sloughs, log
ponds, and about 5,000 catch-
basins at street corners. The main
area Warren is concerned with
is the valley stretch from Junc
tion City to Oakridge.
In about three weeks summer
crews will begin working to
eliminate mosquitoes.
But Warren emphasized that
each homeowner can help -in the
work. He said that mosquitoes
breed in stagnant water only, and
it only takes a small amount to
produce several hundred of the
pesky creatures.
It is advisable to eliminate
any standing water around the
home. Openings on cesspools and
septic tanks should be closed
tightly, lawns should not be over
irrigated, and bird bath and
swimming pool water should be
changed frequently.
It is important to do these
things, Warren said, because it
only takes j five or ten days to
produce mosquitoes In the proper
kind . of stagnant water. "And
without (standing water, it's Im
possible to breed mosquitoes',"
he stressed. " '
