Anniversary Reception

observed their golden wedding
anniversary April 17 at an open
house at their home in Meadow
view. Hosts were the couple's three

Candy Saturday
Y-Toens of Eugene and Spring
field area will stage an all-out
candy sale Saturday, April 23.
Girls from various Y-Tccn groups
will begin selling at 10 a.m.,
working both in downtown dis
tricts and In residential areas.
Proceeds from the sale will go
to Central Lane Y Building Fund.
Candy to be sold will be packaged
In half-pound boxes with the Y
Teen seal on the covers, and con
sists of chocolate-covered after
dinner type mints.

tiered wedding cake was topped
with a bride and groom and
trimmed In gold leaves, roses and
bells.

Sanborn and Mrs. Harold Schrenk
cut the caka. Mrs. Harold
Thompson and Mrs. Joe Hill
served the punch. Others assist
ing Included Mrs. Curtis Sanborn,
Mrs. Richard Backberg and Mrs.
James Hartford. Mrs. Larry
Woolley and Mrs. Ben Simpson
had charge of the gifts and the
guest book.

the cafeteria of Eugene High
School. This ia the one formal
dance of several such affairs given
by. young people of the church
during the year, sponsored by the
Mutual Improvement Association,
youth group.
Willamette Stake includes the
LDS churches in the area from
Salem to Roseburg, which makes
for large attendance. Last year
there were 600 at the ball.
General chairmen are Harold
Gardner and John Bell, the latter
having charge of the floor show.
Decorations are to be provided
by the Salem group. The theme
is 'Spring Fantasy, and it is
planned to utilize spring blossoms
and shrubs.
Music will be furnished by
Gcna Slayler's orchestra. Tlckot
chairmen are Carl Johnson and
Mrs. John Shirley. Mrs. Rulon
Lee of Corvallis is refreshment
