just out of college will be added to the staff of the Assem
bly of God Church. They are the Rev. and Mrs. Don
Heinrichs, formerly of Bakersficld, Calif.
Assembly Has
New Couple
On Its Staff.
The First Assembly of God in
Eugene is welcoming their new
Minister of Youth and Music and
his wife, the Rev. and Mrs. Don
Heinrichs of Bakersfield, Calif.,
who have very recently arrived
in this city.
Mrs. Heinrichs will also serve
as the Supervisor of the Eugene
Christian Kindergarten which is
sponsored by the church, and
registrations received indicate a
student body of over 100 will at
tend during this coming year.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Heinrichs
graduated from the Southern Cal
ifornia Bible College from which
they received their Bachelor of
Arts degrees in music and edu
cation. The local church contemplates
an enlargement of their youth
and music departments, with ac
tivities among which is a new and
additional radio program which
will be released 5:30 to 6 Sunday
afternoons over station KASH
commencing Oct. 10. Their pres
ent program, "Peace In the Val
ley," will continue over another
station.
Prior to coming to Eugene, the
Heinrichs served as the assistants
in the Assembly of God in San
Fernando, Calif., and at one time
Heinrichs was the Minister of
Music in one of the largest
churches in Winnipeg, Canada
with a Sunday evening attendance
of 1,600.
Mrs. Heinrichs was the pianist
accompanist for the College
Choir, and together with Hein
richs, who sang first tenor in the
choir, toured the United States
in the summer of 1953, traveling
over 13,000 miles when the choir
appeared in concert in over 100
cities in the States and Canada.

dren six to 12, one-half price
and children under six, nothing.

for all families to spend an enjoy
able weekend together.

"What is wrong with mankind
today is their disobedience to the
Bible's two great commandments
to love," several hundred persons
from Eugene and vicinity were
told in Portland, Oregon, Aug 8.
They were among 9,435 Jehovah's
Witnesses and friends from the
Pacific Northwest who heard H.
E. Miller of Brooklyn, represent
ative of the Watchtower Bible &
Tract Society, speak on "God's
Love to the Rescue in Man's
Crisis."
The Portland assembly was the
last one of 21 district conventions
held in the United States and
Canada during June, July and
August. Tentative arrangements
are being made for about 100
from Eugene and vicinity to at
tend a series of international
conventions scheduled for Europe
in . 1955. Over 10,000 Witnesses
from the United States have al
ready made advanced reserva
tions to travel to Europe and
many more anticipate making the
trip.
The first convention will be
held in London the last week in
July, Paris the following week,
and cities in Germany, Sweden
and Italy on the following weeks.
