Legion Notes
'Birthday'
In March
American Legion and Auxiliary
will observe the birthday of the
Legion at a joint party Tuesday
evening at Veterans Memorial
Bldg. Although actual date of the
founding of the organization was
March 15-17 (Paris, France, 1919),
March is dedicated as birthday
month of the Legion, and obser
vance may fall on any convenient
date.
A musical program will include
numbers of the Chansonettcs, an
all-girl choral group from Port
land, and instrumental numbers
by a Czechoslovakian trio. A
large attendance is expected for
the affair, which is to start at ts
p.m. The Auxiliary will furnish
refreshments.

to act as hostesses at a dance
given for veterans by Roseburg

bers to the Christian purpose of
the YWCA. increasing member-l
ship and raising a Centennial fund
for strengthening the work of
the Association.
While in Eugene, Miss Owen
will be the guest of the World
Fellowship committee, Mrs. C.
A. Horton and Mrs. John Jaqua,
co-chairmen; the Public Affairs
committee. Mrs. Ralph C. Crow,
chairman, and of the Y-Tecn clubs
with Mrs. E. S. Fretwell, Teen
age program director.
