SIRS. THOMAS EDWARD JAQUES (Gladys Rob
inson) is a bride of this month, married Sept. 6 in
Bethesda Lutheran Church. The couple is at home
in Eugene.

MRS. WARNER W. GREGG (Mary le Ijams) Is
the bride of an ensign in the V. S. Coast Guard. The
couple was married here Sept. 7.

friends, Miss Veva Mauney was
married to Clair Gronsdahl Fri
day, Sept. 12. The evening mar
riage was performed by the Rev.
Joe Bushnell in a setting of lav-p-rior
and fuchsia gladiolus at
Lowell Open Bible Standard
Church.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Robert Mauney, and Mr.
Gronsdahl's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. A. H. Gronsdahl of Colter,
S. D. She wore a gray suit with
pink accessories for her wedding.
Her corsage was a lavender
orchid with white carnations.
The couple was attended by
Mrs. Wilbur Chapman, sister of
the bride, and Keith Ingalls. Mrs.

Sets Luncheon
Garden Group of American As
sociation of University Women
will open the fall season with a
pntluck luncheon Friday at 12:30
p.m. It will be in the home of
Mrs. L. M. Hilt, 1012 E. 22nd
Ave. .Any interested members

dress with gray accessories.

rites.
After a short wedding trip to
Crater Lake and Klamath Falls,
the couple is at home at Lowell
where Mr. Gronsdahl is employed.
Mrs. Willis Fetters of Eugene,
aunt of the bridegroom, was the
only member of his family able
to attend the wedding.
Miss Mauney was feted with a
bridal shower the Wednesday eve
ning preceding her marriage at
the Dexter Baptist Church an
nex. Hostesses were Mrs. Merritt
Barnett and Mrs. Walter Keeney.
Eugene Girl Now
In New York School
Miss Mabel K e e n a Shaw,
daughter of William Bruce Shaw,
2169 Onyx Street, is enrolled in
the Special College Course at
Katharine Gibbs School, New
York, where she will begin her
work Sept. 23. Miss Shaw is a
graduate of Eugene High School
and received her B.A. degree
from the University of Oregon
in 1950.
Her mother's wedding ring was
used when Miss Mary Lee Ijams
was married to Warner W. Gregg
in a 2 p.m. ceremony at her home
Sept. 7. She wore a pink nylon
lace dress buttoned to the waist,
with a Peter Pan collar. The full,
ballerina-length skirt of net was
scalloped at the bottom. She wore
a pink satin hat and carried a
nosegay of white Elfe roses.
Miss Ijams is the daughter of
Mrs. Daniel Leslie Ijams. Dr. and
Mrs. Dwight Gregg of Portland
are parents of the bridegroom.
Wearing a ballerina-length
gown of green taffeta with over
skirts of champagne net, Mrs.
Thomas Chapman, San Francisco,
formerly Phyllis Gardnpr of Eu
gene, was matron-of-honor. Ron
ald Clark, The Dalles, was best
man. Richard L. Ijams, brother
of the bride, gave her away and
Dr. Wesley G. Nicholson officiat
ed at the wedding;
White gladiolus and asters in
the shape of a fan, along with
pink tapers, on the mantel, dec
orated for the ceremony. Ar
rangements of pink and white
asters were placed throughout
the rooms, and a small nosegay
topped the cake.

following the ceremony, Mrs.
Walter Banks and Mrs. William
Hunter cut the cake. Mrs. John J.
McGinly, assisted by Mrs. James
Kays, poured. Dr. Gregg served
punch. Serving were Mrs. Robert
Anderson, Mrs. Lee Nelson and
Miss Patricia McGinly. .
For traveling through northern
Washington and Victoria, B. C,
the bride chose a grey-and-white
checked suit with black accessor
ies. Her corsage was a lavender
orchid. She was graduated from
the University of Oregon and is
a member of Delta Gamma sor
rority. The bridegroom also is
an Oregon graduate and affili
ated with Theta Chi. He is an
ensign in the Coast Guard.

tell about her trip to Europe.

For her wedding the, bride,
daughler of Mr. and Mrs. Larry
J. Berens, wore a blue suit with
a corsage of pink roses. She
was given in marriage by her
father.
The couple was attended by
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Ashbaugh,
brother-in-law and sister of the
bridegroom. His parents are Mr.
and Mrs. J. N. Bales of Elmira.
Only immediate members of the
family and close friends of the
pair witnessed Ihe ceremony.
After a wedding Irlp to Ihe
coast, Ihe bridegroom will return
to his base in Alaska for 10
months.
On the day preceding the wed
ding the bride was honored with
a -bridal shower in the church
annex. Hostesses were Mrs. C. D.
Malhews, Mrs. J. L. Gregory and
Mrs. Alice Inman.

Everything went smoothly the other night when we had Mr. and Mrs. Gray
