Billies Dump
Elmira 53-46
ELMIRA For the first two
periods it looked as though Elmira
might win its second basketball
game of the year Tuesday night,
however, Pleasant Hill made a
comeback in the second half to
outscore the Falcons 53-46 in a
no-count cross-division contest.
Faced by Jim Forcia, Elmira had
a 14-6 advantage in the first quar
ter. The Billies strengthened of
fensively in the second period and
won the quarter 17-12 to come
within three points of Elmira at
the half, 26-23.
In the third and fourth quarters
Pleasant Hill kept up the pace
and Elmira dropped off. One of
the Falcons' main troubles in the
second half was that they failed
to continue their first-half re
bounding. Pleasant Hill pulled a
fast break in the fourth quarter
which also contributed to Elmira's
downfall.
Forcia sunk 21 points to lead all
scoring. Charles Schneider topped
Pleasant Hill with 19.
The Billies also grabbed off the
B game 30-22. Jim Conley of El
mira and Doug Larison of Fleas
ant Hill shared scoring honors
with eight apiece.
