action last week. The Cleaners
norrowly averted a first-place tie
with Paramount Market by taking
a close 54-40 decision from the
Market men Thursday night.
Thus Star finished the first half
unbeaten in all five starts. Para
mount and Weyerhaeuser finished
in a deadlock for the runnerup
spot, each with a 3-z mark.
The six-team league will start
second-half action this week, with
doubleheaders billed for Monday,
Wednesday and Thursday nights.
At the conclusion of the second
