The matter arose several weeks
ago when a negro war veteran
was refused burial in the new
cemetery because of restrictions
In deeds to cemetery lots which
provided that the cemetery be
used for Caucasian interment
only.
Since that time the restrictive
clause has been deleted from lot
deeds, but the city and a ceme.

out the problem of negro burials,
hit upon the plan of allocating 72
lots in a certain portion of the
cemetery for non-Caucasians.
Protests Plan

from 172 shillings 3 pence.
That puts the British pound
and British gold on the samp de
valued footing against the Amer
ican dollar and American gold.
Other countries devaluing their
currencies either have or will
shortly raise their gold price to
keep in line.
The United States now owns
about $24,500,000,000 worth of
gold, more than 60 per cent of
the world's known supply. And
stands ready to buy gold from all
comers at $35 an ounce.
