Monday noon for a potluck
luncheon at the VFW Building.
Mrs. William McCorkle is chair
man. The members will wrap
gifts for hospital packages.
Final plans for a rummage sale
will be discussed at a meeting of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars
auxiliary meeting Thursday at
eight o'clock at the VFW Build
ing. The rummage sale will be held
at Powell's Furniture Store, Au
gust 26-27. Mrs. George Lohr,
sale chairman, requests- that
members bring good, clean, use
able clothes to the meeting. Sale
proceeds will go into the hospital
fund.

her firm.
Following her talk, tea will
be served by Circle Three in the
church parlor. All Methodist
women and their friends are in

Aug. 7 at the home of Mrs.
Humphrey's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. William E. Simons at Cedar
Creek. Thirty relatives attended
the occasion which was also in
observance of the birthdays of
two-year-olds, Jimmy Simons,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Simons and two year old, Wilbert,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Simons.
Attending wore the families of
Clarence Simons, Walter Simons,
Leonard Raisor, Roy Simons of
Eugene, Harold Goddard, Culp
Creek, John Warnick, and "Buck"
Lang of Oakridge and Mr. and

REEDSPORT Miss Harriet
Thompson, daughter of Walter
Thompson of Winchester Bay,
was married July 27 to John
Prozialeck, also of Winchester
Bay, at the Reedsport Baptist
Church. The Rev. Grayden D.
Loree performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Hattie Morris, aunt of the
bride, was matron of honor and
Neal Perkins served as best man.
Mrs. Loree was soloist and Mis.
Lois Bceson was accompanist.
Mr. and Mrs. Prozialeck now are
at home at Winchester Bay.
MONROE MOTHER'S CLUB
MEETS FOR DINNER
MONROE Monroe Mother's
Club met with Mrs. Ira Lemon
Wednesday (or a potluck dinner
at noon, followed by a social
time. All members were present
except three: Mrs. Ida Cottnair,'
Mrs. Tom Reader, and Mrs. Glad
ys Hotter were unable to attend.
Mrs. Cottnair is confined to her
home with illness.
As a going-away gift, the club
presented Mrs. Ed Williams, one
of their members, with a sewing
kit. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are
leaving soon to live with a
daughter in Coivallis.
The club will meet ag.iin in
three weeks with Mrs. Joe Mor
ris. HELM ETTA CLUB will meet
Wednesday at six-thirty o'clock
in the Knights of Tythias Hull. A
no-hostess, potluck dinner will
be served.

session Thursday afternoon at the
Elks Temple.
Mrs. Edwin Peterson held '
high score, Mrs. Victor Bark,
low, and Mrs. E. E. Hiltebrand .
won the guest prize in' the con
tract group. ,
Auction bridge players finish
ed as follows Mrs. L. Burroughs,
high; Mrs. Margaret McCloskey,
low; and Mrs. Quentin Rogers,
guest prize. . .
In the pinochle division, Mrs.
C. J. Daniels was high and
Mrs. A. N. Young was low. Mrs.
Ema Roach was the winner of
the guest prize.
Hostesses were Mrs. Harold
Peterson and Mrs. Edwin Peter
wedding son.
