Sunday Tea Announces Date of Wedding
To" announce the wedding date of Miss Heide Sachse of Eu
gene to T. Berton Moore of Los Angeles, son of Mrs. Mary Ellen
Moore of Eugene, Mrs. Moore and her sister, Mrs. Elsie L. Doran,
will be hostesses at a tea this afternoon at their home, 1389 Pearl
Street. The hour is four o'clock.
Miss Louise Hammer, Mrs. Cyril Laurie, who is a sister of the
guest of honor, and Miss Sally Moore will assist at the tea.
Miss Sachse, who is employed in the business office of the
University of Oregon, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin R.
Sachse of Kerby. Mrs. Sachse will be in the receiving line with her
daughter.
Miss Sachse is leaving at the
end of this month for Pasadena,
Calif., -where her marriage is to
take place at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar E. Kellems. She
has been in Eugene for some
time, having attended the uni
versity for two years prior to
faking employment there.

for the evening wedding of Miss
Betty Jo Hoyt of Springfield to
Bruce C. DeLra of Eugene, Feb
ruary 5. Miss Hoyt is the daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C.
Hoyt, and Mr. DeLess is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd C. DeLess.
The ceremony was performed by
the Rev. Llewellyn O. Griffith,
at eight o'clock in the evening.
Prior to the ceremony, "Be
cause" (d'Hardelot) was sung
by James Kays, and later he
ang "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of
white slipper satin with long
train. Its fitted bodice was topped
by a Peter Pan collar, trimmed
with seed pearls, and tiny cover
ed buttons extended from collar
o waistline. A tiara of seed pearls
held in place her fingertip-length
veil. She carried a white Bible,
on which a white orchid was ar
ranged, with white ribbon
streamers in which tiny pink
rosebuds were tied.
Miss Waynella Brock of Eugene
was maid of honor, wearing a
gown of pink satin with lace
mitts, and carrying a bouquet of
blue carnations with gardenias
and hyacinths. She wore shatter
ed carnations in her hair.
The bridal attendants, who
wore identical gowns of pale blue
satin with neck yokes and lace
mitts, were Mrs. Wendy Ray and
Miss Vivian Rowland, both of
Springfield, amd Miss Dolores
Martin of Sutherlin. All carried
nosegays of pink carnations with
gardenias and hyacinths.
Mothers of both bride and
groom wore grey suits, and cor
sages of pink rosebuds. Mrs.
Hoyt wore accessories in navy
blue, and Mrs. DeLess' acces
sories were in pink and grey.
Best man was Robert Miller,
and ushers were Robert DeLess,
Dale DeLess and Lowell Viken.
The wedding reception was held
in the parlor of the church, fol
lowing the ceremony.
The young couple left on a
wedding journey, and will be at
home in Springfield at 512 C
Street, on their return. The
bride wore a green suit with
gold and brown accessories, and
her wedding orchid, for traveling.

For Annual Party
A St. Patrick's Day theme will
be used in decorations and In
table appurtenances, such as
tallies and score-cards, for the
annual Shrove Tuesday benefit
card party sponsored by Court
Oregon, Catholic Daughters on
Tuesday, March 1, It will be
given at the Osburn Hotel, from
two to five o'clock, and the
public is invited.
According to an established
tradition, home-made enkos will
be used as pri7.es, and many of
them will be awarded. Contract
and auction bridge, pinochle and
five hundred will be the games
played.

at First Christian Church in
Springfield last Sunday. She Is
the dntighter of Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Bonney of Eugene, and
Mr. Dickinson Is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Dickinson who op

Mr. Bonney walked down the
church aisle with his daughter.

sor an informal Amateur Horse
Show on Sunday, March 8, at
the Lane County Fairgrounds

Events are to be open to all
amateur riders who are Inter
ested and who can qualify for
entrance. There will be the usual

used to help maintain a scholar
ship loan fund for music stu
dents of the University of Ore

More than a hundred relatives
and friends were present at the
wedding of Miss Priscilla Wade,
daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Char
les B. Wade of Roseburg, to
Jeffery Currier, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph L. Currier of Glide.
The double-ring ceremony took
place Saturday evening, Febru
ary 5, and was read by ' Dr.
Morris H. Roach, in the home of
the bride's parents.
Miss Wade, who h attended
the University of Oregon during
the past two years, wore an
elaborate gown of white slipper
satin made with long train. Her
finger-tip veil of illusion was
edged with wide lace and was
held in place by a tiara of orange
blossoms. Her bouquet was of
stephanotis and white freeif,
outlined with tiny fluted rows of
maline.
Miss Joyce Bartley was maid
of honor wearing a gown of pale
blue taffeta and carrying a
Colonial bouquet of pink carna
tions. Other bridal attendants
were Miss Barbara Schell, Miss
Ruth Ann Ferns, and Miss
Nancy Gault. gowned In paitrl

The bride's gown of whit
satin, designed by herself, was
made with fitted bodice, tiny
buttons down tne front, Peter
Pan collar, long sleeves snd
gathered skirt. It was made by a
friend, Mrs. Wallace Bone of
Salem. The two-tiered wedding
veil was edged with lace and
was held by a crown of seed
pearls. She carried an heirloom
handkerchief which her mother
had carried at her wedding, and
a white Bible topped with an
orchid.

satin, and carrying a nosegay
bouquet of roses and tulips
centered with a gardenia.

bride was given in marriage by
her father.
Baskets of pink and white
tulips were used on each side of
candelabra In decoration and
were barked by potted palms.
