Wendling Girl Hurt
WENDLING Monday evening
Verna Pattee, four-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Pattee, had the misfortune to fall
from a car and was badly bruised
and cut about the face, necessitat
ing several stitches. She received
treatment at Sacred Heart Hos
pital, and is now making a good
recovery at home.
An electric light pole fell
Thursday evening, placing a por
tion of Wendling in darkness.
Prompt repairs were made by the
Mountain States Power Company.
Our fire warden, Brock Jones,
' has been transferred to general
headquarters of the Lane Coun
ty Fire Association east of
Springfield. The fire hazards
"iave been eliminated by the

while here.
. Mrs. John Swofford' has re
ceived word of an injury to her
sister, Mrs. Elmer Whitaker. Red
mond. Mrs. Whitaker was cut on
the head by a falling windmill
blade. First aid was given at a
Bend hospital and Mrs. Whitaker
is recovering nicely at home.
