For her marriage to Jack L.
Bradford, Miss Gloria Gebers
carried a lace handkerchief Mrs.
Mary McCarger, a friend of the
family, had carried at her wed
ding more than fifty years ago.
Her uncle, Charles D. Thompson,
gave her in marriage.
The Rev. E. J. Aschenbrenner
of Newman Methodist Church,
Grants Pass, read the May 30
service. Mrs. Bradford is the
daughter of Mrs. Fritz Gebers of
Grants Pass, and the bridegroom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Bradford, Cottage Grove.
The bridal gown was of white
organza with Illusion veil of
fingertip length. She carried
roses encircling a single white
orchid.
Miss Connie Eykelbosch of
Portland was maid of honor, and
Miss Dorthea Bates of Salem was
bridesmaid.
. Ross Bradford of Creswell was
best man, and Lee Puritt of
Grants Pass was usher.
Mrs. Claude Troxclaire of
Springfield served the cake, and
assisting in serving were Misses
Jule Crume, Stella Holt, Ger
trude Branthover, and Eleanor
Brunquist, all of Cottage Grove.
Mr. and Mrs. Bradford are at
home at 2743 Potter Street, Eu

In Mapleton Rites
A bride of July 12 was Miss
Billie L. Holbrook, who was
married to Ralph Edwin Wheel
er, Jr. at a home ceremony in
Mapleton, read by the Rev.
Hubert R. Ulrich, Mapleton
Evangelical Church. She carried
a linen handkerchief that came
from France and that was car
ried by Mrs. John Epperson at
her wedding more than fifty
years ago.
Mrs. Wheeler is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Lennie Hol
brook, and the bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
E. Wheeler, all of Mapleton.
She wore an aqua crepe dress
and carried a bouquet of talis
man roses and sweetpeas.
Mrs. William Stickney of
Swlsshome was matron of honor
and wore navy blue crepe and
carried a bouquet of sweetpeas.
The couple will live at Hunt
ington Park, Calif.

EXCHANGES VOWS
OAKRIDGE Wedding vows
were exchanged June 30, at the
Christian Church in Oakridge by
Miss Genevieve Sims and Ross
Baxter. The Rev. Lawrence Bix
ler officiated at the evening cere
mony. The bride wore a beige
suit with dark green accessories,
and a corsage of pink rosebuds.
Her attendant, Miss Lois Gale,
wore a black and cream suit with
a yellow rosebud corsage. Best
man was the bride's brother,
Jack Sims.
Those present at the wedding
were the bride's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Sims of McCredie
Springs; Mr. and Mrs. M. E.
Long of Oakridge, parents of the
groom; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hall,
daughter, Jill, and son, Larry.
The couple left on a trip to
Portland and to take in the Mo
lalla round-up. They will make
their home at Oakridge.

Parents of the bride are Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer M. Johnston of
Veneta, and the bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver M.
Shields of Notl.
The bride wore a grey dress and
her corsage was made of twin gar
denias and mock orange blossoms.
Mrs. Clarence Tripp of Veneta
was matron of honor, wearing a
white linen dress with white ac
cessories and a corsage of sweet
peas. Byron Moore was best man.
At the reception, Mrs. Bryon
Moore and Mrs. Oliver Shields
served the cake.

. A wedding of July 5 was that
of Miss Beatrice Barrie to Emil
Nedbalek at ten o'clock in the
morning. Dr. Henry Marcotte,
Central Presbyterian Church, of
ficiated. The bride is the daughter of
Clarence Barrie of Creswell, and
the bridegroom is the son of
Mrs. Tracy Nedbalek, Burwell,
Neb. Mr. Nedbalek has been liv
ing in Springfield.
After traveling through Ore-
gon, California, Nevada, and
Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Nedbalek
will be at home in Springfield.

was married to William Riddle
July 4 at the home of the bride's
cousin, Mr. and Mrs. W. Gilzow.
The Rev. Thomas R. Atkinson
officiated.
Baskets of delphiniums, white
gladiolus, and pink asters decor
ated the fireplace, and yellow
and white shasta daisies were
about the room.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a suit of
aqua blue with white and black
accessories. Her corsage was gar
denias and small pink rosebuds.
Miss Clorieta Tribble was her
sister's attendant, and wore an
orchid suit with white and gold
accessories and a corsage of
gardenias and yellow carnations.
Wallace Gilzow was best man.
Mrs. James Nelson cut the
cake at the reception, Mrs. H. M.
Hatfield served the punch. Mrs.
W. Gilzow had charge of the
gifts.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Tribble of
Eugene, and the bridegroom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Riddle
of Marcola.
The couple will be at home in
Eugene.

Yoncalla Teachers
Recently Married
At Illinois Home
The marriage of two Yoncalla
high school teachers took place
June 30 at the farm home of the
bride's father in Kingston, 111.,
where four generations of her
family have lived. Miss Martha
Lauan, daughter of Guy Lauan
of Kingston, was married to Al
bert Hoffman, son of Mrs. Kath
erine Hoffman of Cornellius,
Ore., the ceremony performed at
.. high noon by the Rev. Draper
Bishop of the Methodist Church
of Cary( 111.
The wedding day was the
eightieth birthday of the bride's
grandmother, Mrs. Henry Lauan.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. She wore a
dress of white linen with cowl
neckline and cap sleeves, but
toned down the back of the
bodice with tiny pearl buttons.
3he wore a wreath of rosebuds
. in her hair, and carried a shower
bouquet of rosebuds. She also
wore a pair of hand-knit lace
gloves which were her grand
mother's, sixty years before.
Mrs. Phyllis Perrin of Forest
Park. HI., matron attendant,
wore a beige afternoon dress
with green accessories, and car
ried a colonial bouquet of carna
tions. Joel Lauan, brother of the
bride, was best man.
Bouquets of white blossoms
decorated the home for the wed
ding. Special music consisted of
piano selections before the cere
mony, played by Mrs. Draper
Bishop, cousin of the bride. She
also played the traditional wed
ding march from "Lohengrin."
After the ceremony, a recep
tion was held at the Twin Gables
Restaurant, near Chicago. The
young couple traveled to Chi
cago, planning to continue
through the Canadian Rockies
back to Oregon. They will be at
home after August 1 at Yoncalla
Mr. Hoffman is principal of the
Yoncalla Grade School, and Mrs.
Hoffman taught in Yoncalla High
School for the past two years.

Awedding of June 30 was that
of Mrs. Marion V. Aprill, Junction
City, to Earl B. Stratton, Mon
roe. The service was performed
at Corvallis at eleven o'clock in
the morning.
Mrs. Stratton is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Moade, and the
bridegroom is the son of Bert
Stratton.
