THIS IS ITI The week of weddings. There's always that
tidal wave which strikes in June, alter university com
mencement. The society department Is a mental froth of tulle
veiling, bridal processions, receptions and showers. (We final
ly, reached the stage of having somebody wearing the wed
ding cake, but the proofreaders caught It I) But however much
a struggle It may be to keep abreast of June marriages, we
have no patience with those who are impatient of brides.
Aren't they among the sweetest things of earth, really? And a
girl's wedding day is properly the biggest moment in her life.
Let her have It with all its frills, to the last crumb of frosting,
the last ribbon bowl
A wedding today is that of Miss
Mary Elizabeth Hendrickson to
Arthur P. Litchman, which will
take place at two o'clock at St.
Mary's Catholic Church. It's a
"radio wedding" in that almost
the whole staff of KUGN will
take part. The bride has been en
gaged in advertising at the sta
tion, and the bridegroom, who is
director of the athletic news bur
eau at the University of Oregon,
has been doing a sports broad
cast out there.
Mr. Litchman's mother, Mrs.
Gladys Litchman of Long Beach,
Calif., has come for the ceremony.
