Sharply higher 1947 net income was re
ported for V. S. Steel Corp.. Republic,
inland ana Jones ee iaugnun. in aa anion,
Copperweld reported a rise to 82.74 a
share for 1947 from 69 cents In 1946.
The steel group of stocks, however, had
only moderate gains. Jones and Laughlln
advanced more than a point but only
fractional gains were noted for U. S. Steel.
