a business recession restricted operations
on the stock market today and prices de
clined fractions to more than a point.
The fears made themselves felt In lack
of demand pressure.
Automobile issues retreated when a
nag developed in General Motor ne
gotiations with the union. The stock eased
a fraction while Chrysler lost more than
a point Steels retreated fractions. Most
rails were lower but the average was dis
torted by a riser of a point In Nor'olk
and Western and of more than a point in
Union Pacific.
Denver V Rio- Grande Western new;
Issues were up a point or more, scneniey
rallied more than a point Lion Oil gained
a point and Warren Petroleum was up 2.
Johns-Manvllle gained nearly 3.
Eastman Kodak lost nearly 4 and de
clines of 1 to more than 3 were noted in
Charles Pfizer, American Car St Foundry,
Santa Fe, Borg Warner, Chicago & North

1882, In Iowa. She married Alva A.

ber of St. Mary's Catholic Church and
the Altar Society. Survived by her
husband; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret
Smith of Eugene: four brothers, Al
