A recent wedding in the
Franklin Christian Church, Nov
ember 10, was that of Miss
Laurel Sylvia Hodson, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hodson
of Junction City, to Corporal
Robert D. Jones of Fort Lewis,
Wash., son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E.
Jones of Tacoma. The Rev. Le-
iana . Morgan performed the
ceremony at eight o'clock.
Mrs. Elnora Shove and Mrs.
Tobe Jackson sang "To Each
His Own" before the ceremony.
Mrs. Shove also sang "All
Through the Vears."
Mr. Hodson gave his daughter
in marriage. She wore an. after
noon dress of deep aqua-colored
crepe, black accessories . and a
gardenia corsage surrounded by
white carnations and pink rose

Mrs. Beverly CorliS of Eugene
was the bride's attendant. She
wore a black suit and a corsage
of white gardenias. ;
Harold L. Hodson, brother of
the bride, was best man.
At the reception following,
Mrs. Nadine West served the
bride's cakes, assisted by Miss
Lois Deniston. Mrs. Norma Allen,
Mrs. Louise Allen and Mrs. Zada
Allen also served. Pouring was
Mrs. Shove.
Corporal and Mrs. Jones how
are at home in Olympia, Wash.

Women's Faculty Club will hold
its monthly tea Tuesday after
noon from three-thirty until
five-thirty o'clock at Gerlinger
Hall. A nursery will be con
ducted for small children.

chairman for the "tea. Assisting
will be Mrs. F. W. Bittner, Mrs.
L. O. Goddard and Mrs. L. E.

Marriage Held Here
Miss Ruby Alice' 'Beers and
Ellis George Miller, both of
Hillsboro, were married Sunday,
November 17, at First Christian
Church annex. The bride is the
daughter- of Mr. and Mrs.
George Beers of Mapleton, and
the groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Miller of Hillsboro.
Mrs. Wayne' Mullivan,
of the bridegroom played a
piano solo, "Always," preceding
the ceremony, followed by 'the
wedding march.
. .The Rev. Hugh M. McCallum
officiated at the double-ring
ceremony before members of
both families., Mr. Beers gave his
daughter in marriage,
r. The bride wore a gown of
white net with full train, and
a finger tip veil held in place by
a . seed-pearl coronet. She car
ried a white prayerbook on
which rested an orchid with
white ribbon streamers.
Attending the bride was the
bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Milton
Bowker, whose gown was of
pink mesh over taffeta. She car
ried a bouquet of white carna
tions and pink chrysanthemums.
Best man was Elmer Beers,
the bride's brother. Louis Beers
and Milton Bowker were ushers
and lighted the candles.
Following the ceremony a,
two-tiered wedding cake was
cut and served to the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller left on a
wedding trip to Canada and will
'be horrfe in Hillsboro after
Thursday. .

Business Women's Class of
First Christian Church met re
cently at the home of Mrs. En
erson Brickey with forty mem
bers present for a hobby display.
The program followed the
business meeting - with Miss
Dorothy Doering as chairman
and announcer. Miss Nan PHt
man described her collection of
story-book dolls and exhibited
twenty-seven of the series; Miss
.Grace Isemihger showed her
' ring collection, and Miss Mar
jorie Jackson exhibited a collec
tion of cacti. Pictures of Mexico
were shown by Mrs. Raymond
Hatch, and. scenic pictures by
Miss Mary Magers and Miss
. Frances Travis.

Calif., was married to Charles
A. Reetz, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Alvin M. Reetz of Junction City,
November 8 at First Congrega
tional Church in Eugene. The
Rev. Wesley G. Nicholson read
the service in the presence of
members of the family and a
few friends.
The bride wore a black suit
with an orchid as corsage. She
was attended by Miss Roberta
Scott of Eugene, palmer Soren
on was best man.
Mr. Reetz is a graduate of
Junction City Union High School
and since his discharge from the
Navy last summer has attended
the University of Oregon where
the bride also Is a student. After

tion City and both will continue,

vegetables or jelly.
