Toronto Maple Leafs, who would
be undefeated and a mile ahead
of the loop if it were not for the
Bruins, who Wednesday topped
the Leafs 4-1. In the other game
played, Detroit took an 8-6 ver
dict from Chicago.

Samuel Wood
FRANKLIN Samuel Wood, 84
a resident of Franklin for 35
years, died Wednesday morning
in Toledo at the home of his son,
Ernest Wood.
Mr. Wood was born in Missouri
Jan. 25, 1862. '
Survivors Include his widow,
Florence Wood, Franklin; two
daughters, Mrs. Bertha Ream,
Ada, Ore., and Mrs. Hattie Epper
son, Toledo; three sons, Ernest
Wood, Toledo, Francis, Wood,
Franklin, and Monroe Wood,
Springfield; 28 grandchildren, 43
great-grandchildren, and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Satur
day at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of
Christ in Franklin, with Bateman
Mortuary of Toledo in charge.

after a short illness. She was born

Services will be held at Bar-tholomew-Buell
Mortuary Friday
at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Elsworth
Tilton officiating. Interment will
be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
