decorated with salmon-colored
gladioli in a sunburst arrange
ment, with white candles at each
end.- Baskets of blue larkspur,
salmon-colored . snapdragons and
baby breath were on each side

Bridal Pair Plights Troth
Beneath Huge Oak Tree
A picturesque old oak tree spread mnssive arms above the
principals in the garden wedding Sunday of Miss Elizabeth Ann
Potter to Herbert P. Person, at the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Claude A. Potter, at The Braes. A leafy screen had
been arranged against the tree trunk, and before it the bridal
group stood, as Dr. Victor P. Morris read the service. Leading from
the house to the spot was a path across the lawn, outlined by a low
border of ferns and hydrangea blossoms. , s
Mr. Person is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Person of Coeur
d Alene, Idaho, who flew here for the wedding.

solos, accompanied at the piano
by Mr. Allton, and they also
played the wedding marches.
James McMullen sang "Always"
and "Thine Alone."
Given By Father
Mr. Potter gave his daughter
in marriage, and escorted her
across the lawn between rows of
assembled guests. Miss Potter
wore a gown of white nylon
marquisette with a train. It had
short puffed sleeves, and she
wore three-quarter-length white
gloves. Her veil of fingertip
length was held by a coronet
. headdress of net, trimmed with
pearl embroidery, and she wore
a strand of pearls encircling her
throat. Her flowers were an ar
rangement of white gladioli,
centered by orchids.
Several Attendants "
The bride was attended by her'
sister. Miss Judy Potter, as maid
of honor. She wore a gown of
blue satin combined with match
ing chiffon, and carried a sheaf
of deep maroon-colored gladioli.
The bridesmaids, Misses Joyce
Wampler of Roseburg and Fenna
Van Gelder of Eugene, woro
gowns of pink satin and chiffon,
made similarly to Miss Judy
Potter's, and they carried the
same maroon flowers.
Jean Potter, the bride's cousin,
was her junior bridesmaid. She
wore a long gown of white taf
feta trimmed with bows of pink
and blue velvet ribbon, with
matching ribbons in her hair.
She wore lace mitts and carried
a nosegay of pink roses and
white carnations. Best man for
Mr. Person was William LeGore
of Portland. Ushers were Donald
Forbes of Roseburg and Jay G.
Deardorff of Eugene.
' Mrs. Potter, the bride'i
mother, wore a formal gown of
yellow lace with a small pink
hat trimmed with pink feathers.
Mrs. Persons wore an afternoon
dress of blue and white crepe.
Both Miss Potter's grand
mothers, Mrs. Julia Bruce of Los
Angeles and Mrs. Edith Potter
of Ridgefield, Wash., were pres
ent at her wedding.
Reception Indoors
Following the ceremony, a re
ception was held Indoors. The
bride's table in the dining, room
was spread with a lace cloth,
and centered by an arrangement
of white flowers and tulle, from
which sprays of white gladioli
spread fanwise at each end of
the table.
Mrs. Howard Boyd, house
mother of Miss Potter's sorority.
Alpha Gamma Delta, cut the
bride's cake, and Mrs. Jay Dear
dorff gave out the groom's cake.
Mrs. Carl Baker and Mrs. Ken- '
neth Proctor poured, and Mrs.
Alden Potter served punch. Mrs.
Robert K. Bertsch had charge of
the guest book.
Among the out-of-town guests
were Mrs. John Wheeler and
daughter, Mrs. Edgar McWhlrter,
of Seattle, and Mrs. Glenn Mc
Cormick and Mrs. Robert M.
Fischer, Jr., of Salem.
Mr. and Mrs. Person planned
to make their wedding Journey
to Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, and
into Canada. On their return,
they will be at home on the
South Fork of the McKenzie
River, where they will be in
business.
For going away, the bride
wore a gray suit with black ac
cessories, and an orchid corsage.
