A Christmaa program and
party for the children of mem-
ben of the Hebron grange was
held on Saturday evening In the
grange hall. Mrs. Fred Harris,
lecturer of the grange was in
charge of the program, which In
cluded group singing, led by
Esther Trunnel; recitations by
Jeatl Lamb, Marie Geer, and Llla
Maa Chaffee; songs by Jerry
Woileat and a group; a vocal solo
by .Esther Trunnel, a violin solo
by "Marie Geer, a vocal duet by
Mr" and Mrs. Mada Overgaard; a
piano duet by Lenore and Lor
ane Porter; and a short play,
"The Christmas Spirit" At the
close of the program, treats were
presented to th children. The
Grange members enjoyed a social
evehing of dancing and refresh
ments were served.

has arrived home for a three day
visit with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Zeno Zabrlskie. His brother,
Ronald Zabriskle, from Corvallis
came down for the week-end to
set him. Jack returned Monday
evening. While here he called on
several of the neighbors and
friends.
Mrs. Donald Alexander was
hostess Saturday evening at a pot
luck dinner at her home honoring
her mother, Mrs. George Wllllan,
on ' her birthday anniversary
which came Dec. 14; and also for
the friends to greet Mrs. Guy

at the church Thursday evening
of this week, at 8 o'clock. Mrs.

The interior decorating of th
sanctuary of th church was corn-
plated last week. Th walls were
painted Ivory. Th celling, doors,
and window frames were painted
light ivory. The floors war sand
ed and reflnlthed, and the seats
ware varnished, both in th audi
torium and the primary room ad
joining. The total cost of rfln

Grangers Meet
STAFFORD Mohan k-McKen-zie
grange members met In regu
lar session at the grange hall
Thursday evening. The meeting
was preceded by a potluck dinner.
It also was a Christmas party with
an exchange of gifts, about 40 at
tending. Roy Swezey spoke on
when the soldiers come back they
will want to buy land, Mr. Swe
zey says it is up to grangers to
help them. Mr. and alu. Lyle
Owens were given the obligation.
So far, $4700 worth of bonds have
been sold by the grange bond com
mittee. Mohawk-McKenzie grange

Willakenzie Grange
WILLAKENZIE -The juveniles
opened the program of the Willa
kenzie grange on Saturday night
by singing. In one number
Marjorie Olson and Harold Ruth
erford took th solo parts, ac
companied by the choir. Mrs.
Hugh Mulloy directed the
choir. Mrs. LlUle Hayes
the choir. Mrs. Hugh Mulloy dl
gave a reading of her own com
position, "The Meaning of Christ
mas," concluding with the read
ing of the nativity from St. Luke.
Mrs. Gerald Saunders gave two
solos, accompanied at the piano
by Miss Marie Baker. She con
cluded her part of the program
by leading the body in singing
"Silent Night',' and "Oh, Come
All Ye Faithful." P. Waldo Davis,
accompanied by his son, Hershal
Davis, entertained on his musical
bells. Roberta Rutherford and
Dick Lajoie sang, accompanied by
Marjorie Olson. Following this
number the, lecturer, Miss Marie
Baker, called on various members
for a tale of th first Christmas
they remembered. Carl Ruther
ford then lead the group in the
singing of carols and told of the
originations of the carols. Mrs.
George Saunders presented a
tableau, "The Nativity." The pro
gram closed with Santa Claus
coming in and giving each an
apple.
At the business meeting the
new officers for the year took
charge with each officer present.
It was announced that at the next
meeting of the grange the officers
of last year would present the
program. The charter of the
grange was draped in honor of
the passing of .one of th mem
bers, R. Claude Gray. This was
don by th chaplain, Mrs, C. S.
Calef, and Mrs. E. J. Koplin,
Ceres. The demit of Stanley Darl
ing was voted upon and he be
came a member of this organiza
tion. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dal
tort also were elected to become
members of the grange. Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Kinney were obligated
in the first and second degrees.
The first and second degree in
itiatory work, of the grange will
be presented to a class of candi
dates in January. Reporting for
the agriculture committee. Earl
Harrison reported on a hormoe to
be sprayed on applea to prevent
them from prematurely falling.
Mrs. Carl Rutherford reported for
the home economics cotmntttee,
telling of the Christmas party
held at their meeting tha previous
week, and expressing thanks to
William Forest and Clarence
Hover for the work they did in
making and installing new cur
tain rods in th hall. She also re
ported that some of the ladle had
painted the new table while oth
ers worked on a quilt. At this
time Mrs. Gyneth Olson's resig
nation aa pianist was read and
accepted. The music committee
was instructed to select a new
pianist. The worthy master,
George Molltor, read the list of
appointments to committees for
the coming year.
