Medical Groups
To Follow Armies
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. OR
Tho United Nation! relief ind re
habtlitation administratioa will
end life-saving teams of doctors
and nurses into Europe behind
the armies to fight disease and
starvation. Dr. Thomas Parran,
surgeon general of the U.S. public
health service, said.
Chairman of UNRA's eommls.
slon on medical care for civilians
In war tones, Or. Farran said at
a press conference that reports
gathered from France and Poland
Indicated the UNRRA must move
raoldly to prevent a world-wide
spread of epidemics. Typhus and
tuberculosis already are taking
thousands of lives, he said.
Dr. Parran said that to accom
plish its task UNRRA would have
chief medical officer, a staff of
doctors and technicians gathered
from all the nations and stocks of
medical supplies which already are
being assembled.
Personnel units which can care
for groups of 10,000 people will
move into any area where needed
Dr. Parran said the entire prob
lem would be complicated by an
estimated 21,000,000 persons who
will be anxious to return to their
homes in the greatest migration
in the history of the world. Under
UNRRA plans, he said, these peo
ple will be funneled through cen
ters where they will receive food,
be checked for contagious disease,
be vaccinated and quarantined, If
need be.
Before Dr. Parran revealed the
plans to counteract disease, a high
source said that It had been decid
ed that title to the relief supplies
would pass, at the post of entry,
Into the hands of whatever exist'
tng government controls the tcr
rltory.

WE ARE VERY MAD
PEOPLE WON'T do as we tell them. Here we
spend umpety dollars telling them what to
buy and where to list, and they go right on
doing as they please. We simply can't under
stand it Now for instance here we have:
A DANDY big house, close In on the West Side
one of those built to stand the tides of time
which has been converted into 4 apart
ments; two up and two down. These apart
ments are always full, and very little renew
ing will stepup the income to justify con
siderable more than the $6000 we are auth
orized to accept for the property. IT'S A.
REALLY GOOD BUY, folks. See Mrs. Sober.
PERHAPS YOU are one of those disgusted peo
ple who have worn their nerves to a frazzle
trying to find a three bedroom modern home.
If so take an aspirin and call Darrell Shelley
about this East Side offering with three bed
rooms, living room, dining room, kitchen,
fireplace, basement, furnace and a lovely lot
for $6250 on good terms.
AND RIGHT HERE we have a honey of a farm
right on top of Pleasant Hill of 90 acres with
good buildings, electricity, fruit and berries,
all in cultivation for $12000 that should be
long to some new owner right after this add
appears. See the office boy.
WHOA BOY! We almost overlooked this lovely
2 bedroom River Road home for $7000. Right
- in the very heart of this Suburban Aristoc
racy with spacious ground, surrounded by
lovely homes, near school and market we
doubt if you will find another like it any-
v where. Oh yes, it is exclusive with this
office. See Mr. Knight. .
DAG NAB IT, a lot of folk have been looking
for a small place where they could make a
modest beginning and we didn't have it. Well,
here's one for $2000 bucks with a pretty good
4-room plastered house and five lots. Gosh,
in these days of rising prices this is like a
drink of water to a man lost on the desert.
