the state championship, last
night authorised Chairman Jack
Larson of this city to file an of.
ficial protest with State Com.
missloner "Spec" Bnrke over a
controversy during the Springfield-Albany

last Sunday.
According to Johnson's claim,
the Albany. Sprinrfleld umpire
ordered Emmet Rauch, Spring
field pitcher, to make his de.
liveries within five-second In
terrals or forfeit the game.
Johnson claimed that Ranch,
who haa a natural slow delivery,
was not guilty of attempting to
delay the game. Albany won the
contest 6-1, taking advantage of
10 bases on balls Issued by
Rauch who was noticeably rat
tled by the umpire's ruling,
Johnson said.
Springfield won the first game
of the Willamette valley cham

have been made regarding tbe
