For Scout Circus
Last minute details are now be
ing completed by scout troops
and cub packs for the 1942 scout
circus to be held Saturday night
at McArthur court. Captain Har
vey Blythe, circus chairman, announces.
Friday night will be the big re
hearsal for the show and cubs
and scouta will run through their
acta at the court starting at 7:00
o clock. The acts to be rehearsed
are the camping act, cub act, cha
riot race, and pioneering.

The Eugene high school band

try parade on Saturday and will
give other numbers throughout
the show.
Tickets are now being sold
throughout the city by scouts and
cubs and people are asked to buy
them and attend the show.

Scenes For Fortune
Mrs. Jack Wilkinson, whose
husband is instructor of draw
ing and painting at the Univer
sity of Oregon, has been com
missioned by Fortune magazine
to paint a series of scenes
depicting defense activities in
the northwest. It was learned
here Wednesday.
Mrs. Wilkinson's assignment
will include pictures of the
shipbuilding Industry and ship
launching in Portland, the
Japanese detention center at the
livestock exposition grounds,
and the work of the forest service.
