Private Laddie J. Pirkl, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Pirkl, of
Eugene, is ready to begin his basic
training course, which will quali
fy him for duty with the armored
force of the V. S. army, according
to information from the public re
lations bureau at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
To Speak Wednesday
Rev. George Belknap, survivor
of the sinking of the Zam Zam,
will appear Wednesday night at
the Church of the Nazarene at 7:30
to tell of his experiences. The pub
