Choir Will Sing ,
Sunday Afternoon
The a cappella choir of Eu
gene high school, under the direc
tion of Glenn Griffith, will pre
sent an hour-long vesper program
at the Central Presbyterian church,
Sunday, December 21. The pro
gram will begin at 4 p.m. '
A processional of the choir, in
their beautiful wine-colored robes,
to the music of "Angels We Have
Heard on High," will begin the
program. The choir, when seated
in the choir loft, will continue
with "Silent Night," "Virgin's Lul
laby," "Lo! How a Rose E'er Bloom
ing," "Carol of the Bells," ."Amer
ica," and other Christmas favor
ites. A quartet consisting of Doris
Horton, soprano: Lorraine Woods,
alto; Orin Weir, tenor; and Mike
Miles, bass, will sing a medley of
carols. Mona Daniel, a senior at
Eugene high, will sing "O Holy
Night," and Lillian Wright, a jun
ior, will sing "Night of Nights."
Other features will also be heard
Everett Fulton is accompanist for
the choir.
Everyone is invited to attend,
and there is no admission charge.

St. Mary's Episcopal church Is
holding its midnight Christmas
and communion service on Christ
mas eve, December 24. Father Er
nest S. Bartlam will be assisted in
the service by Father ft. H. White.
The chorus choir is under the di
rection of Lovisa Y. Ayres. with
Alfred Tyson at the organ and
Arthur Hendershott, violinist.

'Christmas Pictures'
In Program Title
The church school of the First
Methodist church will present a
program, "Christmas Pictures," at
9:30 a.m. Sunday in the chapel.
Mrs. Henry S. Howard is direc
tor, assisted by the teachers of
the primary, junior and junior
high departments.
The Christmas story will be
given in tableau with Christmas
songs by the Sunday school child
ren interspersed. The Christmas
story from the Bible will be re
peated by the junior department.
The primary children will sing
"Christmas Pictures," and the
junior and junior high depart
ments will sing "The Angel Song
of Love." .
Two exercises, "Christmas Star" '
by the primary girls and "Christ
mas Decorations" by all the pri- .
mary . children, will be given.
Jean Crakes and Lauralee Newton
will read "The Sweet Madonna";
Katherine Anderson will sing
"The Mother's Lullaby"; Forrest
Andreason will give a reading.
