Christmas wreaths denoting welcome at the doors
. . . gayly decorated trees twinkling with many lights . .
last minute shoppers in the usual dither, ..it's Christ
mas time again jarred and sobered by the war, but
still the .year's extra special occasion, particularly for
the youngsters.
In Eugene, numerous family .gatherings, traditional
for Christmas , eve and JChristmas day will be held.
Many visitors are to be herie for the holidays,' likewise,',
a large group of Eugeneans will be-spending ' the day
lsewhere. : j
On Christmas eve, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick K. Davis
will entertain for their annual buffet supper for relatives,. .'
about eighteen to be present. On Christmas day,, Robert
A. Booth will entertain the family group for dinner at the
Osbum hotel. .
A large family gathering for seventy-five or so will
be held Christmas day with J. W. Chase and his son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.-Dewey F. Ray, as- '
hosts at their home.
Holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter P. Fell -will be
their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lee M.
Bown and family of Salem. i
. Dinner guests of Dr. and Mrs. W. B. Neal for a party
ot the Osburn hotel Christmas day will be Mr. and Mrs.
W. I. Gilmore of Seattle,' Miss Betty lean Neal, hom ,
from Stephens, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Raesller of Burbank,
Cal., Mr. and Mrs. Dave' Swenson, Miss Mabel Olson,
