ing, sewing, and .doing anything
and everything else.
If you find Evedene and the
second queen candidate Mary Sue
Jackson in a huddle quite a bit
during the pageant events, you'll
know it's due to the fact that both
love the same thing dress design
ing. It's a hobby with Princess
Mary Sue, but Princess' Evedende
wants to go to' a school where she
can learn dress designing for a
career.
She hasn't seen a pageant as yet,
since the 1937 event was staged
while she was in Washington "or
somewhere," she sighs.
This one will get her undivided
attention, however, and she aims
to enjoy herself thoroughly. The
pert miss comes right out in favor
ol beards for men.
"They're really cute in most
cases," she insists, "though Mom
doesn't agree with me. No, I
don't have a steady boy friend,"
she replied when asked if this
might have something to do with
the divergence of opinion, "but
they're amusing and attractive in
spite ol anything."
Princess Evedende, though a
great lover ol the outdoor sports
and activities, finds time to enjoy
reading and an occasional show,
but admits even these two diver
sions are improved if they are of
the outdoor type. . . . Zane Grey's
books being a special little hobby
all her own.
She likes Barbara Stanwyck and
George Murphy on the screen, the
latter "because of his dancing and
not his acting," she smiles.
Princess Evedende is in a fairly
lirge family what with four sisters
