Sunday school of the First Metho
dist church will have the flower
decorating of the cross during the
Sunday school hour Easter morn
ing. There will also be special
music by the orchestra under the
direction of Mrs. H. N. Traxler.
Rev. Edwin Gersham, native of
India, will be guest speaker at
the morning service. Mrs. C. L.
Camp, the pastor, will preside at
baptismal services and the ad
mission of members. The choir
will sing "Hallelujah! Christ Is
Risen" from Hendel's Hallelujah
chorus. At the 7:30 service both
choir and orchestra will supply
special music with Bible responses
by the pastor.

William Powell was honor guest at
dinner recently at his home in
south Drain honoring his seventy-
eiahth birhday. Covers were laid
for. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Doney and
two sons, Mrs. Ollie Cox and two
sons. Sam Powell, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Powell, Miss Lora Wilson, all
of Cottage Grove; Mrs. Clara

The Townsend club met this
week for the regular busif.ess
meeting. Mrs. Esther Newton was
elected as chairman of finance
committee, and Edna Harlan chair

meeting there will be a potluck

Haines of Oakland has purchased
the Letsom property where the
Lovetts lived, and will, take pos
session soon.

ness of her brother.
The grade school teachers have
all been re-elected for the coming
year, with an increase of pay.
PLAN SERVICE
THURSTON, March 21. (Spe
cial) The Thurston young peo
ple's Sunday school class, the
Loyal Boosters, will hold a sun
rise service Easter morning which
will be followed by an Easter
breakfast at the social room of the
church. The class has asked that
others who wish to join with them
attend the service and breakfast.
