Woman Loses Purse
Mrs. R. Cook, old age pension
recipient, living at 870 Second ave
nue west, lost her purse contain'
ing $50 on March 13. This is all
the money she had and she has
nothing to live on until her next
pension check comes. She is ask
ing the Register-Guard to assist
her in locating the finder of the
purse.
Meningitis Case Reported
A case of spinal meningitis from
Holly, Linn county, has been
brought here for isolation, it was
reported Thursday by Dr. E. L.
Gardner, county health officer.
The patient is a 14-year-old boy.
Building New Bridge
A county crew is at work on a
new bridge, 65 feet long, across
Canyon creek on the old Sitislaw
road four miles above the mouth
of Wildcat creek. Another county
bridge crew that has been at work
on the public dock at Florence and
repairing bridges in that end of
the county has returned to Eugene.

Allen Scott in Seattle, Wash., Mrs.

ed over the Vincent creek road and
will inspect roads in the vicinity
of Mary's peak the remainder of

T. A. Gilbert of the Gilbert Shoe
store, who was inlurcd in an auto
mobile accident Saturday night, is
reported to be improved at the Sa
cred Heart hospital. He was quite
seriously hurt.

cial) The Leaburg Community
Sunday school is uniting next
Sunday with the Vida Sunday
school in special Easter services
at Vida. Rev. Mr. Payne of Salem
is to deliver the morning message
and there are to be special num
bers given by the members of
the Sunday school. The Lcaburg
Sunday school is to provide spe
cial numbers. A basket dinner
will be served at noon.
Association Elects
The Greenwood Cemetery as
sociation held its regular business
meeting at the cemetery this
week. Several matters of business
were discussed and voted upon.
Mrs. Clco Carter and Mrs. Elden
Pepiot were voted into the asso
ciation as new members. It was
also decided that the present
yearly assessment will be $1
which may be paid either in cash
or in labor which may be fur
nished for the upkeep of the
cemetery grounds. Officers for
the ensuing year were elected
with Elmer Pepiot for a three
year term, Walter Carter to serve
a two-year term, and Mrs. Fran
cis Elston, for the one-year per
iod. Mrs. Walter Carter was re
elected as clerk, Those who at
tended the meeting wore Mr. and
Mrs. Elmer Pepiot, Mrs. J. J.
Pepiot, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Car
ter, Mrs. Cleo Carter, Mrs. Elden

Elvira Deadmond. The honoree is
