HALSEY, Dec. 21-(Special)
At a recent meeting of the official
board of the local Methodist
church, with Rev. Puidy, district
superintendent present, church
matters were discussed and a
decision was made to build a hall
on the south side of the present
church building for Sunday school
and social purposes. Tentative
plans are to erect a building 30
by 60 feet in length.
HOLD SOCIAL MEETING
. COTTAGE GROVE, Dec. 21.
(Special) Mrs. J. S. Powell and
Mrs. Hazel Chapman entertained
the Neighbors of Woodcraft at
their regular social evening and
annual Christmas party this week
at the Powell home' on South
Fifth. A dessert was served, fol
lowed by a gift exchange. Favors
were bags of candy at each plate.
An evening at cards followed, at
which Mrs. Fanny Leabo held high
score and Mrs. Mabel Sowles was
second. Prizes were given dur
ing the evening for various fea
tures at play. Mrs. Merle Porter
and Mrs. Hortense Reed were spe
cial guests. Five tables were at
play.

COTTAGE GROVE, Dec. 21.
(Special) Miss Sybil Veatch has
returned from several weeks' visit
with her sister, Miss Sylvia Veatch
at Bend.
The M. P. G. club held its Christ
mas party recently at the home of
Mrs. Charles Beidler. Gifts were
exchanged and after a social after
noon, a dinner was given by the
group at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Short, at which the husbands
were special guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Benton Schrenk
has left for a holiday visit in California.
PAST MASTERS MEET
COTTAGF. GROVE, Dec. 21.
(Special) The annual meeting of
past masters of the Cottage Grove
Masonic lodge was held Tuesday
evening, with a dinner at the Ma
sonic temple. Sixteen were pres
ent including two guests, Carl King
and Grovcr Hood. Vinal Randall
was elected as president of the as
sociation for the ensuing year.
