John K. Price died early Friday

10 years. He had bee ill but a few
days. ,
The boy was born at Seattle, Aug.
10, 1026. The family formerly lived
here, having been at Seattle the past
ear and returning to Eugene about
a month ago.
Surviving are the parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Price; the grandmother,
Mrs. Mary J. Yaughan, Eugene; three
uncles, William II. and Bert H. Vau
gban of Eugene, and N. A. Yaughan
of Portland; three aunts, Mr. Harold
Taylor and Mrs. Ray Replngln of Los

William R. Wackerbnrth of Cres
well died Thursday afternoon nt the
veterans hospital in Roscburg at the
ugo of 42 years. He hnd made his
home in Creswell for tho pnt 20
years. He wns taken to the hospital
two weeks ago. .
Mr. Wnckerbnrth wns born in New
Rochelle, New York, Oct. 21), 1S04.
He served In the World war with the
58th regiment, U. S. infnntry.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. R.

Mautasket, the test ship, will emerge
a new era, of marine construction by
which tho dangers of fire nt sea vir
tunlly may be eliminated.
For seven months the experts havo
been setting fire to the Interiors of
speclnlly constructed cabins aboard
tho Nantnsket, burning material
representing beds, closets, cup
boards, sheets, mattresses, rugs nnd
passengers' clothing, then making
careful calibrations of just what hap

GRANTS PASS, Aug. 21.-
Inqurst was slated today in the death
of Philip Montgomery Wells, 5, fat
ally injured late yesterday when bis
skull was crushed by a Grants Pass
Creamery company truck driven by
John Spnrlin. The boy was the son
of Mrs. Ronnl Duvall, who with her
family came here from Texas to work
in the hopyards west of town.
