With some of the best amateur
talent in southern Oregon ready to
swing leather, the Siuslaw Athletic
club of Florence will get under way
impressively next Friilny night in
their first fight card, to be held at
the local gym.
Malcom Hansen, well-known glovo
tosser from the Deerhorn Athletic
club, and Ruben Thomas, speedy
battler of the Eugene A. C, are slot
ed to make things hot in the maiu
event.
The eml-windup will feature Bar
ney Culbertson nnd Harold Withrow,
n couple of Siuslaw A. C. middle
weight, who will givo and take to
decide the club championship.
In one nf the feature bouts draw
ing more than Its share, of attention,
Lew Bierer, big all foot three "wal
loper from the Siuslaw A. C, and
Wayne Ferguson, giant Scot, who
wears the colors of the Eugene A. C,
will attempt to pound each other
into submission. The bout la slated
to go three rounds, but it it Roes the
full limit, it will be n rarity as far as
amateur heavyweight buttles are con
cerned. Whatever happens, it ehould
be filled with plenty of hefty "socks"

ager, Delbert Falkner, of Eugene. Mr.
