Obituaries
Niels Borgaard
JUNCTION CITT, Dec. 21. (Spe
cial) Niels Borgaard died at the
home of his son, Paul, on Wednesday
evening, Dec. 19. He had been In
poor health for four year8 and on
Nov. 4 he Buffered a stroke and has
been bedfast since.
Niels Borgaard was born in Den
mark July 4, 1856, and when a boy
IS years of age came to America and
located in Marquette, Mich. Later
the family moved to Illinois where he
met and married Anne Margaret Paul
sen in 1S78. Soon after this the young
couple went to Nebraska where they
homesteaded and lived many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Borgaard came to Ore
gon and tane county in 1012. He and
his sons bought land in the Harmony
district. In 1018 they moved to town
wnere na has since lived. Mrs. Bor
gaard died in 1026.
Two daughtera and four aons sur
vive: Mrs. Sarah Shannon, Norman,
Nebr.) Paul Borgaard, Junction City
Andrew Borgaard, Minden, Nebr.;
Mrs. Emma Matheasen, Minden. Nebr.
and Fred and Alfred of Cheshire.
One daughter, Mra. Elsie Begenske,
died in the fall of 1018, in Pnsco,
wash. There are also 21 grandchild
dren and 13 great grandchildren.
