ville, on Tuesilny, July IS. She was
horn in Dps Moines county, Indiana,
July 1, isr,f and was the daucbter of
Peter and Clarissa Chance. She came
to Linn county, Oregon, in ISSfl and
three years later was married to
Charles Henry Els wick, at Craw
fordsrille. Coming to Brownsville
soon thereafter, she resided here
since that time, Mrs. Elswich is sur
vived by three children; Arniy Kl
swich, Mrs. Kva Filkins and Mrs.
Clara Itankin, all of Brownsville; by
four grandchildren; and the following
brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mne Fitch
nnd Mrs. John Kdwartls, both of Port
land; Mrs. G. Ij. Jlembree, Khun nth
Falls; and Mrs. Hannah Bntemnn,
Brownsville; Harry Chance, llalsey;
and 11. K. Chance, Marshfield. Mr.
