iously Injured Wednesday night when
e waa struck with a bottle by an
tozicated woman in the hallway of
a rooming house, according to word

Two Imoiicated women entered the
rooming home at 8 o'clock Wednea
day morning, according to reporta.
Frank DeLano, the landlord, at
tempted to eject them and waa at
tacked and beaten with bottles. Mrs.
Clark cam to the assistance of Mr.
JJeLano and waa heraelf badly beaten.
6ha Buffered a bad cut over her eye,
and her arm, which she threw np to
ward off the blow waa cut to the
bone. Fifteen atltchae were required
to close the wound in her arm. and

to avoid confusion as the numbers
of several of the lines have been

telegram received from Neil Taylor,
preaident of the Oregon chapter, who

The professional achievement con

alumni of the chapter who are actively

versity of Oregon group bad a rating
of 70 per cent. It was announced. The
University ol North Dakota received
first prize. Oregon State college,
which waa awarded fourth in the ef
ficiency contest, failed to receive
mention In the professional achieve
ment competition.

Pork Chops and Potatoes a la Carna
tion 6 potatoes, 1H tsp. salt, few
grains pepper, I tbsp. butter, K cup
Carnation Milk, Ifi cups water, 2
tbsp. flour, 6 pork chops, 1 egg, bread
crumbs. Scald Carnation and water in
a double boiler. Pare and slice potatoes
in yi inch slices. Place a layer in a
buttered baking dish, sprinkle with
salt and pepper, dredge with flour, and
dot over with bits of butter. Repeat
and add the scalded milk until it can be
seen through the top layer. Dip pork
chops in egg and roll in bread crumbs.
Place on top of potatoes and bake in a
