gown, lighted the caniles.

The bride, who was given in
marriage by her, lather, wore
white, Mown fashioned with a '
faetin bodice and foil chiffon skirt
which ended in a train. The long
sleeves ended in points over the
wrists and chiffon ruffling en
hanced the square necklfne. Her
fingertip length tulle veil cas
caded from a Mary Stuart head
dress. She carried a white testa
ment marked with gardenias and
bouvardia.
Mrs. George N. Hawkins was
her sister's matron of honor. She
wore a blue chiffon gown made
with a full skirt three-quarter
length sleeves and a sweetheart
neckline. Miss Alice Sandver
ws the bridesmaid and wore a
pink net gown with a jersey bo
dire. They carried pastel nose
gays to match 'their dresses.

Mr. William Strawn stood with
bis brother as best man. 'Ushers
were Mr. Frances Moore and Mr
Siierman Callaway.

Mrs. Geddes wore a black suit
with matching accessories and a
corsage of piflk carnations. Mrs;
Straws selected a black silk
crepe gown with matching acces
sories and her flowers were pink
carnations.
The newlyweds greeted their
guests at a weddinx reception in

Mrs. Roy Trudgeon cut the
bride's cake.
When the couple left on their
wedding trip the bride wore 4
' black and white checked suit
with black top coat and black
accessories. Mr. and Mrs.
Strawn will return to Salem
where they have taken an apart
ment for the net two months.
In March Mr. Strawn will leave
for Fort Lewis t report for re
alignment. He recently returned
frn the Kurooeon theatre of op

Presbyterian church will enter

Wednesday night at the church

Instead of rushing around, pushing our way
through crowds who gather to hear the news
right fresh before It gets on the press, we
worked on a crossword puzzle between pre
cinct reports. The thing that made us so
disgusted was that we couldn't get the croq3
word puzzle too dull

Slates Meeting

Woman's Society of Christian

church In the Carrier room. The
business session will begin at
10:45 in the morning. A saak lun
cheon will be held at noon and

ple, Miss Marion Twill and Ed
ward C. Grady were married in

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Twill in
Corvallis on December 5. The

knitted for me for, Christmas and didn't have
the nerve to tell her about it. On January 7,
I drove to Portland, got out of the car and
picked my mitten from the gutter, well

nutritionist from Oregon Stat
college, will be the guest speak
er over KOAC, Monday at 7:30

gram, Her topie will be "Plans
for 4-H Health Clubs In 194."
She will discuss; ways of corre
lating the health clubs with the
physical fitness program of the
public schools. Miss Case has
assisted with! 4-H Health clubs
for many years and is author of
the handbook which is" being
used by these clubs in Oregon.
Miss Helen Cowgill, assistant
state 4-H club leader, will also
speak, discussing "Styles of To
day." f Suggestions will be made
which, will be especially helpful
to members of 4-H clothing

the marriage of Miss Betty
Pierce, daughter of Mrs. Helen
Pierce, to Mr. Roy Kuenstler,
son of Mrs. Ed Kuenstler of San
Antonio, Texas, which will be
an event of Tuesday night, Jan
uary 15.
The ceremony will take place
at the Jason Lee Methodist
church with the Rev. S. Raynor
Smith officiating at 7 o'clock.

Miss Pierce is well known in
Salem as a dancing instructor.
Her fiance was recently dischar
ged from the navy after serving
overseas.

After receiving his B. S. de
gree at Willamette university,
Lt. Hill graduated from North
Pacific college of Oregon Den
tal school, where he was affilia
ted with Delta Sigma Delta fra
