of Swegle Woman's club was held

district with 16 members present
for the noon covered dish dinner.

bert Patz and Mrs. Fred Hensell,
and Mrs. Terrill's son, Mr. Hen
sell and Fred and Johnnie Jayne.

Raymond Winkleback enrolled
in the fourth grade at Auburn
school, coming from Grant school
Wanda Winkleback, Joan Scott
and Beverly Nunn entered the
seventh grade after the holidays,
Assistant Scoutmaster Harley
Warn of Scout troop 64, Four
Corners, and Jim Stewart, senior
patrol leader of the same troop,
visited troop 11 of the Englewood
school Tuesday night. Their pur
pose in the visit was to see how
this troop conducts their meet
ings fiedslo bring back ideas on
how i to improve the meetings of
theirjown troop. Other visits will
be made in JJe Wear future.

ceived a telegram from her hus
band early this week telling of
his arrival at a camp in Virginia.
PFC Howard Rand has been in
Europe with the medical corps
for two years. He expects dis
charge from Tort Lewis. Mrs.
Rand is teaching in the Salem
academy, West Salem.
Cadmium is a by-product of
zinc smelting.
