Case, Sentenced
PORTLAND If) -Ruth Barnett.
SI. and Dorothy Shaw, 41, Wednes
day were sentenced to jail after
changing their pleas to guilty ea
two charges of manslaughter by
abortion.
Circuit Judge James Bain sen
tenced Mrs. Barnett to one year
in jail on one charge. On the other
she received a five-year suspended
sentence.
Mrs. Shaw was sentenced to six
months in Jail and five years pro
bation.
Mrs. Barnett went to Jail four
years ago on a manslaughter by
abortion charge that was publi
cized widely. She was released aft
er serving four months.
