Grain Prices
Dip Slightly
CHICAGO. Dec. 20 Wl Paced
by new crop wheat, grain futures
ended mostly lower on the Board
of Trade today.
Liquidation of new crop bread
grain was pretty general most of
the session with prices off more
than 2 cents a bushel at the ex
treme. The decline attracted buy
ing and losses were reduced
somewhat at the close.
The nearby March wheat deliv
ery, off more than a cent in early
trading, recovered on late de
mand to end the session higher.
At the close wheat was l's low
er lo H higher, corn unchanged
to H lower, oats unchanged to ht
lower, rye unchanged to V lower,
soybeans to IV higher, and
lard was 18 to 23 cents a hundred
pounds higher. ,
Liquidation of new crop wheat
futures stemmed from a govern
ment estimate of the 1958 winter
wheat crop, which was much larg
er than the trade expected.
