Dance Clubs Plan Parties,
New Members Are Listed
Three dance clubs have scheduled their first parties of the sea
son for this coming weekend. Town Club's formal dinner dance is
slated for Saturday night in the Gold Room of tht Marion Hotel.
The social hour will begin at 8 o'ojock with dinner following at 9
o'clock. Harry Wesely and his orchestra has been engaged to play
for dancing for the coming season. A highlight of the club for the
year will be the New Year's Eve dance.
New Town Club Members
William C. Dyer Jr. is president of the club and announces the
following new members: Mr and Mrs. Donald Buss, Dr and Mrs.
Donald Beardsley, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Busick, Mr and Mrs. Stephen
Fiuchek, Dr. and Mrs. George R. Hoffman. Mr. and Mrs. Howard

Bon Hear Dance on Friday
First dance of this season for the Bon Heur club is calendared
for Friday night at the VFW Hall. Hours for the semi-formal affair
art from 9 to 12 o'clock.
The directorate for the dance includes the officers and their
wives, Mr. and Mrs. George V. Maistrom. Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Harris,
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Waltz, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Halvorson
and Mr. and Mrs. James Tindall.
Hard Times Dance For Intermission Club
The Intermission Club will hold its second dance of the season
Saturday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall. This will be a
hard times party beginning at 9:30 o'clock with Lyle Glazier and his
orchestra playing.
Hosts for the evening include Mr and Mrs. J. R. Renner and
Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Baker, co-chairmen, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Marker,
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Kent of Oregon City,
Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Raaf and Dr. and Mrs. P. E. Burger.

A Halloweea Dance
Members of the KD Dance Club will hold a Halloween dance Fri
day night at the Four Corners Community Hall. Dancing will begin at
9:30 o'clock and refreshments will be served. The host committee for
the evening includes Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cain and Mr. and Mrs.
Pete Pruitt.
College Senior Takes Bride
Mr. and Mrs. Lucian McCandless Baker (Marilyn Lee Han-
thorn) who were married October 2 at S. John's Lutheran
Church. The couple will live in Salem while the bride
groom completes his studies at Willamette University. The
br,de is the daughter of Mrs. Mary Hanthom and Walter
Hanthorn of Portland. The groom's parents are Dr. and
Mrs. P. D. Baker of Salem. (Jesten-Miller Studio).
Republican Women Plan
For Eisenhower's Birthday
The Salem Club of the Republican Women's Federation of Ore
gon announces that instead of the usual monthly meeting on Mcn
day, October 14 they are holding a coffee to celebrate President
Eisenhower's Birthday. The coffee will be held between 10 a.m. and
2 p.m. in the Camellia Room at the Senator Hotel.
To enable more interested Republicans to attend the birthday
celebration, the Salem Club is con
ducting, for the first time, a baby
sitting project in the Cave Room
of the Senator Hotel. TV games
and refreshments have been plan
ned for the children.
