MRS. SICFRID B. UNANDER, wife of Oregon's
state treasurer, is shown in the attractive
living room of their ranch style home south of
Salem, which features indoor plantings along the
front windows. Mrs. Unander's ball gown is of
creamy beige satin with coral pink embroidery
beading on the skirt end bodice and floating pan
els in back lined in pink. The Unanders will be
among the honor guests at Monday's inaugural
ball at the Salem armory.
MRS. ROBERT D. HOLMES, above, wife of
Oregon's governor-elect, who will assume
the role of Oregon's first lady following the in
auguration of her husband on Monday. Mrs.
Holmes is pictured in the living room of their
Candalaria Heights home in the gown she wi
wear for the inaugural ball Monday night. The
ankle length gown is of white Chantilly lace over
honey beige net with a pleated flounce of '-the
net encircling the bottom of the skirt.' Her jewel
ry will be pearls. Mrs. Holmes will also wear
the gown to the inaugural ball honoring Presi
dent and Mrs. Dwight Eisenhower on January 21
in Washington, D. C. The Holmes will leave for
the East on January 19.

the, new chief justice of the Supreme Court
of Oregon. Mrs. Perry is wearing a delft blue
lace gown banded in satin' and will be among
those presented with her husband at the Inau
gural ball. Mrs. Perry will join with the other
supreme court justices' wives in official entertain
ing during the coming legislative session.
MRS. NORMAN O. NILSEN of Portland, at the
left, whose husband is the state labor com
missioner. Mrs. Nilsen will be among the state
officials' wives who wifl be presented ej the in-,
augural ball Monday night, ohe is wearing a
waltz lenqth gown of white brocade with jewel
trim on the bodice. Mrs. Nilsen plans to be in
Oreoon's capital city o'ien during the legislature '
to attend the many social events calendared for
the season.
