WASHINGTON - The Fed
eral Power Commission was told
that private utilities cannot rely
on federal supplies to satisfy the
Pacific Northwests growing de
mand for electric energy.
Officials of twe power firms so
testified at an FPC hearing on an
application by Pacific Northwest
Power Co. for a license to con
struct th Mountain Sheep and
Pleasant Valley dams in the
Snake River along the Idaho-Ore
gon border.
