July 17, "SQ Steel Strike Parley Fails; Sessions Halt PITTSBURGH Uft-Stwl contract - negotiators held another session Monday and management spokes man announced a recest in the talka until Wednesday afternoon o that the industry "can consider the whole picture aitcin." ' The announcement came from John A. Stephens, vie president of U. S. Steel Corp. and chief management spokesmen at the negotiations. He told newsmen that there was no progress made In the talks today.. Leaders of the 650.000 United Steelworkcrs remained behind af ter the conference with manage ment ended, and apparently were talking with the team of federal mediators who sat in oa the final SO minutes of today's session. The conference between com pany and union spokesman had begun at I: IS p. m., and ended a little mora than two hours later. There was no announcement of what took place during the talks. Ha said he believed the boy's body may ba in a deep hole about three miles downstream from Chester Dam, where too three put their boat in the river for a fishing trip.
