The clan is composed of the de scendants of two brothers and their wives, Charles and Harriet Riches who settled at Turner, and George and Mary Jane Riches who lived in the Waldo Hills area on the farm part of which is now owned by Robert Riches. To each couple a large family was born and of these Immediate descendants only Miss Irma Rich es of Salem survives In the Charles Riches family, while the , recent death of Mrs. Florence Given took the last member of the George Riches family. Oldest Member The oldest member present Sun' day was Stanley Riches of Turn er, while the youngest was Kath leen Combs of Salem. Walter Holtea gave the third and fourth degree obligation to Mr. and Mrs. Lindy Langwell and Maryann Dunn. Clyde Smelaer spoke on cotton raising and had a box of cotton seed to show the group. The evening's program consist ed of group mging, a reading by Mrs. Albert Roth, and two motion pictures, ffyown by Mr. and Mrs. Werner Hemshorn of Woodburn Grange. The next social night will be August 4 at I p.m. at the grange hall. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Holten are on the kitchen committee and Mr. and Mrs. Percy Dunn are in charge of the program. Applications to attend must be completed before July 28. The camp will take place from August 8-26 and is or young peo ple from through 13 years old. FALLS CTTY-Blanket liability insurance en city equipment and property has been awarded to the Stan Malo agency of Dallas, it was reported this week. Malo's bid, for a term of three years, called for an annual prem ium of $37. The Falls City conn cil opened bids Monday night with only two being received. The Dallas agency was recently successful bidder on Polk Coun ty's liability insurance. Cost, of the policy is $2400 per year for a three-year period. It includes fire, theft and liability insurance.
