Nelson of In dependence, president of the Third District Oregon Federation of Wo men's Clubs, entertained her exe cutive board at luncheon on Thurs day at Lipman'i Cherry Room. Members gathered at ten o'clock for the business meeting at which appointments of department and division chairmen were approved. Plans were made for a summer meeting of the board of directors to be held in Portland on August 22, the location to be selected at a later date. The date for the fall workshop was set for October 5, this meeting also to be in Portland with Mrs. James P. Porter as gen eral chairman. Miss Carpenter Is Married LYONS The Lyons Methodist Church was the setting for the wedding Saturday, June 16 of Miss Twyla Sue Carpenter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Carpenter of Lyons, and John Melvin Manderschied, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Manderschied of Scio. The Rev. After a short wedding trip the young couple will be at home at Drain, Oregon, where he will be employed as a logger and truck driver. Baiic Sotting X Miss Glover Leaves YW Position Resignation of Miss Mildred Lucille Glover, associate execu tive director of the Salem YWCA, has been received reports Mrt. William Crothers. YWCA board president. Effective September 1, Miss Glover will become execu tive director of the Vancouver, Wash. YWCA. Joining the local staff in Sep tember. 1954. Miss Glover hat been in charge of the young adult program which includes the scheduling and arranging o f classes in addition to special pro motion work. Miss Glover entered YW work in 1M7 when she ac cepted the post of executive director of the YWCA in Great Falls, Montana a position she held until her move to Salem. A native of Minnesota and a former high school teacher, she received her B.A. degree from the State Teachers College, May ville, North Dakota, and has tak en additional courses at the Uni versitiet of Minnesota, Montana and Washington. Miss Glover was the Salem delegate to the triennial YWCA, convention in New York in 1955 and previously has enriched her YW background by attending special conferences and seminars in Rockford, Illinois and Asilo- mar, California.
