Ex-Jurymen Query Judge On Powers By THOMAS G. WRIGHT JR. Staff Writer, The Statrinui Attempts to reopen investiga tions into charges of graft and , corruption in state institutions 1 were apparently in the making Friday by members of the same Marion County grand jury which conducted the original probe. This was revealed in a report that representatives of five of the seven-member jury, displeased with conduct of the probe, had called on Circuit Judge R. Duncan last Monday to determine if they still held grand jury powers in the case. At the same time it was re ported two members of the jury had received threats because of their part in the investigation. Charge Made The special probe had been touched off last March after Al M. Richardson, former state pen itentiary food , manager, charged that "a fermenting morass of cor ruption and graft exists in our state institutions." Judge Duncan confirmed reports of the visit by the group but stated they did not indicate any particular liscontei.it with the eon duct of the investigation which was reported to be the basis for was ; the new action Youngsters Keep Parents Busy on Runs to Hospital TRINITY. The grand jury, after hearing 64 witnesses in seven days of test imony, failed to return any crim inal indictments and brought in a report mildly critical of some state institution, teod policies. But peri odic reports since then have in dicated a growing dissatisfaction with the handling of the case by District Attorney Kenneth Brown, and on Friday some of the former jurors indicated the grand jury report was "something of a white wash affair" with which they did not necessarily concur.
