Juanita Brown Married in Newberg A bride at the Firft Methodist Church in Newberg Saturday. May 12, was Miss Juanita Brown, for merly of Salem, who was wed to Glenn Struble, son o( Mrs. Clara Struble, Newberg. The Rev. Gus tav Storaker officiated at the double ring ceremony. Melvin Gilson, Portland, was soloist and Mrs. Gustav Storaker was at the organ. The bride wore a ballerina gown of white nylon lace and satin over taffeta, styled with scooped neck lines and short sleeves. The finger tip veil fell from a pillbox style hat trimmed with seed pearls. She carried bouquet of white stephanotis centered with an or chid. Robert Johnson of Lebanon, a family friend, gave the bride in marriage. Mrs. Jerry Salveson was honor attendant for her sister and Miss Donna Olson was bridesmaid. They wore identical dresses of pale blue polished cotton fashioned princess style with a full length front panel inset of tiny crosswise pleast. Each carried a bouquet . of stephanotis and white cornflowers. Brother Is Best Maa Warren Struble, Crescent City, Calif., was best man for his broth er and groomsman was Donald Smith, Newberg. . Ushers were Jerry Salveson, Saltm, and May nard Burkett, Newberg. Candle lighters were John and Michael Kidby, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Har old Kidby, Portland. A reception was held in the church parlor. Mrs. Robert John son, Ubanon, cut the cake and presiding at the coffee urn was Mrs. Harold Kidhy, Portland. Slate of Officers Are Presented WOODBURN A lupper for Legion and Auxiliary members preceded the regular meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary this week at the Legion Hall. Mrs. Kenneth Yoder presided. The nominating committee pre sented the following names for of ficers: Mrs. Albert Rheinholdt, president; Mrs. Edward DeHaan, first vice president; Mrs. Warren Donner. second vice president; Mrs. Genaro Ramon, secretary; Mrs. Arvid Ostrom, treasurer; Mrs. Dorothea Coleman, historian; Mrs. Clara Stange. chaplain; and Mrs. Adrian Schooler, sergeant-at-arms. Mrs. Rheinholdt, hospital chair man, displayed two completed lap robes to be sent to the hospital at Medford. She also reported $12.35 additional credit for ditty bags and items sent to the Portland hospi tal, and that 160 flowers have been made for the wheel chair parade. The hospital beds and chair are all in use, reported Mrs. Miller. Jeraldtne Kotka was chosen Girls State canidate, and Barbara Paul son, alternate. WILLAM1NA Mrs. Doaald Aase was honored with a shower 'this week at the home of her mo ther, Mrs. Clyde Bice, in Grand Ronde. Mrs. Cornelia Pearson and daughter, Carol, were hostesses. Pouring punch was, Mrs. Ted Ol son, Portland. In charge of the guest book was Mrs. Warren Struble, Crescent City, Calif. For traveling, the bride wore a white and avocado print dress topped with an avocado bolero. After a trip to the Oregon coast the couple will be at home at 217S N.W. Davis, Portland, where both are employed at Willamette Iron and Steel Company. Blithe Spirit Revival on May 25 North Salem High School's speech department will present Pentacle Theatre members In a revival of Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit" Friday evening, May 25 in the high school auditorium, The play, seen by Salem audi ences two seasons ago, was the first theatrical offering to be pre sented by the then newly formed Pentacle Theatre. H contributed to the immediate success of the summer theatre group. With the exception of two persons, the origi nal cast will appear in the benefit performance. Shiela Laue, Joy Brown, Glen Smith, Fran G h o 1 s o n, Dick Schmidt, Lorraine Moreland and Sue Juba will be seen in this high ly amusing story of a man who ii suddenly confronted by the ghost of his first wife, whom his second wife can neither see nor hear All proceeds from the Frid.w evening performance will go to ward the buying ol much needed equipment for the speech depart ment of the high school. Speech class members are taking part in the backstage work necessary to produce the play and, in the selling of tickets for the performance. Tickets may also be purchased at Stevens It Son and Meier and Frank's, beginning Friday. . LYONS Mothers were honored at the meeting of Faith Rebekah Lodge Wednesday evening. Plans were discussed for the district con vention held at Jefferson and for the meeting on June 13, when the president of the Rebekah Assem bly of Oregon will pay her official visit.
