bridegroom, Andrew Donald Dixon,

The wedding was canrelled, but

John C. Dixon, 64. was held thil

Police laid they had no dues as

Eighteen relativci had gathered
at the Dixon'i eight-room frame
house in Englewood, nine muc
northwest of here.
First, they were to attend the
Wedding of Dixon and Miss Sara
Louise Pfarrer, 21, daughter of Dr.
and Mm. Richard Allen Pfarrer of
Oakwood, a Dayton suburb. The
" wedding had been tcheduled for
- 10 a m. In the St. Albert The Great
Catholic Church ia suburban Ket-

Then Dixon, most of bis family
and many wedding guests had
planned to attend funoeral senr-
, Ices for the father, who had died
in his sleep of a heart attack
'Thursday. Members of the family
had decided not to allow. the fu-
' neral to Interfere with the elabo
rate plans which had been made
for the wedding.

The funeral services were held
' at West Milton, north of Dayton.
Meanwhile, young Dixon waa In
Good Samaritan Hospital, where
attaches said the bomb blast bad
"badly torn" his left hand and
left kg. He also received lacera
tions of the right eye, and atten
dants at the hospital said It may
be some days before doctors can
determine If his eyesight has been
- affected. - -
He was In surgery several hours,
Ind helping to attend him was his
prospective lather In law, Dr.
Pfarrer. His Intended bride also
was at the hospital awaiting word
at his condition.
Ta Receive Degrees
Dixon la to receive his degree in
physical education at the Unlver
sity of Dayton this spring. Miss
Pfarrer, who completed her studies
Several months ago, la to receive
degree at the sama time. They
had been engaged for a long time,
and had been going together since
, their sophomore year. This led
'.police to minimize any theory that
; disgruntled suitor might have
-- been to blame for the Doming.
Injured along with Dixon when
the bomb package was opened
were his sister, Mrs. George Coo-
ney, 34, of Chicago, and two aunts,
Mrs. Don Stewart, 41. of Wash
ington, DC, and Mrs. Frances
. Stefanak, 40, of Elmhurst, 111. They
.'were cut and bruised and released
from the hospital after treatment.

Police Chief D. C. Underwood of
Englewood gave this report of the
explosion:
He said Andrew Stcfanak, St, of
, tsirnbrook. Pa., Dixon's uncle,
and a brother-in-law of Mrs. Stefa
nak, found two packages on the
front porch about 1:45 a.m. He
took them into the house and
placed them on t table in the liv
ing room.
One of the boxes was about a
foot wide tnd a foot long, with a
flap lid. It was unwrapped, sealed
with black friction tape.' It was
addressed to Dixon, but his name
was misspelled and, In general, It
was crudely addressed. There were
no stamps on it and apparently it
had not been sent through the mail
