the present name will lose its signi

tinue to manufacture gas to sup
plement natural gat, during coldest
winter months, but with a higher
heat content. Lampblack will no
longer be a byproduct

A twin-engine Beechcrart from
the Corpus Christi Naval Air Sta
tion collided with a Jet plane from
the Kingsvllla Naval Air Station.
Tha Beechcrart lost a wing in the
collision and crashed In open
country. The three persons on
board were killed.
The jet trainer was heavily
damaged, but the pilot stayed
with the piano to avoid crashing

perienced political writers ' said
Thursday that despite the popu
larity of television, newspapers
are still Indispensable to public
understanding of politics.
The two were Gould Lincoln,
veteran political writer for the
Washington Star, and Charles T.
Lucey, for the Scripps-Howard
newspapers. They presented their
views at the annual convention of
the American Society of News
paper Editors.
The editors' meeting also heard
discussions of the suppression of
newt by government agencies,
and the question of giving thor
ough and unbiased treatment of
political news.
Both major parties, the Repub
licans especially, plan to run this
year's campaign with far more
use of television than usuaL
Even so, Lincoln Mid, newspa
pers will remain indispensable be
cause they can provide interpre
tation and background, and cover
local interests as well as national.

porter frequently is able to get
from candidates and political
leaders tips or even facts which
they would hestitate a long time
